Roblox Plus vs Premium

The short answer

Roblox no longer sells Premium. Its monthly plan is now Roblox Plus, which costs $4.99 a month in the US.

Plus gives no Robux of its own. Instead it takes 10% off what you buy with Robux, and 20% from month 3.

So Plus is worth it only if you spend a lot of Robux on items. Once the discount is 20%, you need to spend about 2,498 Robux a month.

What happened to Roblox Premium

Premium was Roblox's old monthly plan. Its members got extra Robux with every pack they bought.

Roblox stopped selling Premium when Roblox Plus started. A little later, the extra Robux on packs ended for everyone.

Our data updates list both changes with their dates.

What Roblox Plus gives you

Roblox Plus is Roblox's monthly plan. It gives money off things you buy with Robux, not Robux of its own.

• Money off game passes, developer products, subscriptions, paid access and avatar items: 10% at first, then 20%.
• No discount on items above 1,000,000 Robux, or on items someone sells again.
• One free private server in each game that sells them.
• The right to send Robux to other players inside games that allow it.

Plus never makes Robux packs cheaper. A pack costs the same with or without it, on the website, in the phone app and on Xbox.

The discount does not cover publishing fees, ad credits or group fees either. If you cancel Plus and join again, it starts at 10% again.

Who should pay for Plus

Plus pays off for players who spend many Robux on items every month. Say you spend 5,000 Robux a month: Plus has paid for itself in month 1.

It does not pay off for players who spend little. If you spend 1,000 Robux a month, the later saving is 200 Robux, worth $1.99. That is less than Plus costs.

If you mostly buy Robux and keep them, Plus saves you nothing. The discount only counts when you spend.

Ask a parent before you start any monthly plan. It keeps costing money every month until someone cancels it.

Why the first months cost more

The discount is smaller while you are new. For the first months it is 10%, so Plus pays off only in a month you spend about 4,995 Robux on items.

From month 3 the discount is 20%, and about 2,498 Robux a month is enough. A good month later has to make up for the first ones.

Say you spend 3,000 Robux every month. You save 300 Robux in each of the first months and 600 after that, and Plus has paid for itself by month 6.

Roblox Premium vs Plus, side by side

• Can you buy it today: Premium no, Plus yes, for $4.99 a month in the US.
• Extra Robux on packs: Premium members got them until Roblox ended the bonus. Plus gives none.
• Robux of its own each month: Plus gives none.
• Money off items: Plus gives 10%, and later 20%.
• Private servers: Plus gives one free private server in each game that sells them.

Premium added Robux to the packs you bought. Plus takes Robux off what you spend. That is the main difference between Roblox Plus or Premium.

So the old question of which plan gives more Robux has a new answer. Today you get Robux only by buying a pack, a gift card or by earning them.

Plus and buying Robux

Roblox sells Robux in packs of fixed sizes. On the website the smallest pack is 270 Robux for $2.99, and the largest is 24,000 Robux for $199.99.

Plus changes none of these prices. The Robux to USD calculator shows the cheapest way to buy the Robux you need, and the Robux prices page lists every pack.

Roblox also sells Plus together with some Robux, as bundles. It has not published what those bundles cost, so we cannot compare them yet.

Plus and the people who make games

Roblox pays for the Plus discount itself. A player with Plus pays 90 Robux for an item of 100 Robux, and later 80.

The creator of that item still earns 70 Robux, the same as from any other player. So a game does not lose money when its players have Plus.

Players with Plus can also send Robux to each other in games that allow it. The guide to Robux transfers explains how that works.
